ABOUT US!

Welcome to Ye Steady Hands!

We are a family business which has developed out of our love for all things
Renaissance and Medieval. Our main focus is to provide hand made products which
are different from the normal souvenir items one usually finds at the Faires and
Festivals. Our featured products are banners and tapestries.
Scroll down to see us and the booth!

Most of the items are hand crafted by Tanya Lowry who also does Facepainting at the
booth. Feel free to stop by and see about affordable Facepainting for your party or
event. If you need to contact Tanya regarding any of our products or for Facepainting
please email:

Jim Lowry heads up the sales end of the business. Walk by our booth and you may
find him inviting My Lord and Lady to stop and check out our wares.  Jim is currently a
member of the U.S. Navy and his military obligations will keep him from the 2010
Faire Season.
If you need to contact Jim, please email:

Tia is our girl behind the cash box. As she is currently undergoing several height
increases, you may find some of her garb for sale on our clothing rack. Be sure these
dresses have been lightly used because as a fashionable young Lady, Tia must have a
new dress for every season! Stop by our booth and be amazed at her uncanny ability
to make change for a dollar without the aid of a calculator or cash register!

SCA Personnas
Jim Lowry's SCA personna is James Winfield, also called Umbra the Rover. Umbra is
the Latin word for "shadow". Of Scottish descent in the 15th century, Umbra earned
his nickname while carrying out raids against neighboring clans, doing his lord's dirty
work and sneaking into boudoirs late at night.

Umbra is a mercenary whose travels have taken him to far lands. On those travels, he
discovered that a better way of making money was through the import/export side of
merchanting. Rather than being a sell-sword, he began selling swords and developed
profitable relationships with merchants from Arabia to England.
