NOVEMBER 12-13, 2011
At the Abba Shrine grounds located at 7701 Hitt Road Mobile, AL 36695

The earliest foundations of the gulf coast lie within the Renaissance Era. It started in the summer of 1559 when Tristan de Luna sought to establish a colony in the area now known as Pensacola. The new pioneers of history in Northwest Florida are looking back to those beginnings. In 2001 Steve Melei established the first Gulf Coast Renaissance Faire which was held on the grounds of St. Anne's Church. After the awful devastation of Hurricane Ivan, the Faire found a new home at the Interstate Fairgrounds. This event has expanded into a second Faire in Mobile, a historically important area of the Gulf Coast. The fun, fresh air and excercise of the event is great for every age. Patrons are encouraged to come in costume, as the event seeks to forge new bonds between the past and present. Thousands will gather to witness the spectacle of armored combat, the thunderous clash of jousters, the swirl of a dancer's costume and to sample the wares of merchants who have traveled from afar. The Faire goes on, rain or shine, the second weekend of November 2012. Come and meet Their Majesties, see fabulous characters and experience a historically good time! Get Medieval!
